Wichita Eisenhower National Airport has a new 2-level state-of-the-art passenger terminal, which holds 12 boarding gate, along with with a curved roof and outside covered crosswalks, curbside, parking, and rental cars facilities. The new terminal of ICT is able to accommodate and handle around 2.4 million passengers per year. Besides, the newly established terminal is equipped with 16 loading bridges and has enough space for future expansion.
There are the 330 feet long sculptures designed above the airline ticketing counters, baggage claim, and central mezzanine lobby areas. These sculptures are continuously changing their colors by skylights.
The 2-level Terminal houses a baggage make-up room, two large outbound carousels, a baggage handling system, an expanded TSA security checkpoint area, and the art and exhibits area with historical data regarding Wichita's Aviation history.
Terminal Level 1 is used for arrivals and departures. The arrivals area is provided with baggage claim and Customs (CBP). In contrast, the departures area holds check-in facilities including self-check-in and regular check-in counters, escalators & elevators that lead passengers to get to level 2's Security screening area.
Terminal Level 2 is referred to as the Departures Level. This level is provided with an expanded security screening area, 12 boarding gates along with glass-covered flexible boarding bridges that are usable for various types of aircraft. The departures level offers various services, such as food & drink choices, Grab & Fly, the Sky Warrier Retreat, CNBC & smart shop, as well as access to ATM.
There is free Wi-Fi provided throughout the terminal building. ICT offers around 786 outlets and USB ports that are attached to the new boarding area seats and allows passengers to charge their electronic devices. Besides, ICT provides new and larger restrooms, in which there are five family restrooms.
